London/Frankfurt, 28 November 2022 - Developed in 2013 by KPMG’s Financial Services transformation experts, K-Helix is an established Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) provider simplifying reporting for a wide range of regulatory reporting requirements. The desktop application is used by over 200 financial institutions and asset managers across the UK, EU and wider EEA*.

Regnology is a leading technology firm with an exclusive focus on regulatory reporting. Founded in 1993 as BearingPoint RegTech business unit, the company was acquired by Nordic Capital in 2020. In 2021, the business marked a first important milestone as it joined forces with Vizor Software, a global leader in RegTech and SupTech, creating a regulatory reporting powerhouse serving regulators and regulated firms at a unique scale.

This year, the company continued to expand the solutions it provides and geographical reach with the acquisition of a global tax solution provider specialist, and more recently b-fine, a Belgian-based regtech firm specialized in providing last mile reporting services across Europe.

K-Helix was developed to help businesses navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Regnology has the specialist experience to support existing clients, and the global customer base to expand on the success we’ve had with K-Helix across UK and Europe.

Karim Haji, Head of Financial Services for KPMG in the UK

We are delighted to be acquiring KPMG’s K-Helix reporting business, which will help us in our mission to simplify and digitalise regulatory reporting for our clients across the financial services space. Spotting opportunities to acquire either products or business offerings which have strong synergies with our own is a strategic priority for Regnology, and this marks the latest in a series of acquisitions which will enhance our business and improve our offering for clients.

Rob Mackay, CEO of Regnology
