When it comes to designing for regulatory reporting systems, it’s about more than just the aesthetics. Design is at the core of usability, accessibility and user experience (UX). Good design is intuitive; it increases user engagement and decreases the need for troubleshooting. It is an essential component in designing regulatory reporting systems.
Apple founder Tim Cook once said: “Most business models have focused on self-interest instead of user experience.” Determined not to make this mistake, we were one of the first Irish enterprise software providers to identify that a UX-led approach to designing regulatory reporting systems was crucial.
When designing for regulatory reporting systems, there are numerous considerations including technical feasibility, budget, performance, and security concerns. We want to make our user’s job easier, but do not want to add too much complexity to the software.
Within the Product team, we prioritise the features based on the impact that they will have on the customer. We rank features on a ‘value vs complexity’ matrix to strike the perfect balance between effort and value. We work closely with our custimers to find out exactly what they need, and which features are most important to them. We want our users to love our products and for the products to help them to do their job most efficiently.
Our refined parameters determine a feature’s score, in addition to a tried and tested estimation process that aims to stay as close to the actual effort as possible.
The world of financial regulation is a fast-paced environment with complex requirements and demands. That makes designing for regulatory reporting systems a challenge - and it’s a challenge we have always risen to.
The Vizor Suptech Platform was built from the ground up specifically for financial regulators – our customers have always been at the heart of our software.
