What you'll do
Payroll & Compliance- Contribute to the setup, documentation, and continuous improvement of payroll and compliance processes, particularly in India.
- Support the preparation of payroll for multiple countries, with a primary focus on India and the APAC region; experience supporting payroll in additional countries is a plus.
- Ensure adherence to local labor laws and regulations, with particular attention to payroll, statutory contributions, and compliance requirements in India and APAC; familiarity with other jurisdictions is an asset.
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll providers and internal teams on payroll-related matters.
- Monitor regulatory and legal changes impacting payroll and employment compliance, ensuring timely implementation of updates.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll, social security, and employment compliance.
Legal & Regulatory Oversight- Ensure payroll practices are aligned with local labor laws, collective agreements, and internal policies.
- Provide advice and guidance on payroll compliance and regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to risk mitigation related to payroll, social security, and employment regulations.
Process Improvement & Tools- Drive continuous improvement of payroll and compliance processes, with a focus on India and the APAC region; experience supporting additional countries is a plus.
- Support the optimization and ongoing evolution of payroll systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Contribute to the harmonization of payroll-related processes across countries to ensure consistent standards.
Other Responsibilities - Participate in employee representative bodies, employee relations forums, or committees as applicable, on payroll, compliance, and regulatory topics.
- Support cross-functional HR projects related to payroll and compliance.
Why we should decide on you
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Administration, HR, or Business.
- At least 1 year of experience in HR operations and/or payroll, ideally in an international environment with exposure to organizations of more than 100 employees, including experience supporting the growth, structuring, or scaling of HR or payroll teams and processes.
- Experience supporting payroll preparation in India and the APAC region is required; exposure to additional countries (e.g. Australia, Thailand, Singapore, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and payroll regulations in India; familiarity with APAC regulations and other international jurisdictions is an asset.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in local languages (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, etc.) is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with HRIS systems is appreciated.
- Dynamic, proactive, organized, and comfortable handling confidential information.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
