What you'll do

As a Data Engineer at Regnology, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team working at the intersection of business, regulatory requirements, and modern data platforms. You will design and build scalable data processing solutions that support complex reporting and analytical use cases for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
 
You will work primarily on backend data platforms, focusing on data modeling, database design, and efficient data processing pipelines implemented in Python.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing pipelines using Python
  • Design and optimize data models and database schemas following best practices and industry standards
  • Build efficient and performant data storage structures for large and complex datasets
  • Develop and maintain ETL / ELT processes for structured and semi-structured data
  • Design and develop data-focused microservices using Python
  • Work with data formats such as XML, JSON, and similar; experience with XBRL, DPM, SDMX is a strong plus
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, traceability, and performance across the data lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and domain experts to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, following development standards and participating in code reviews
  • Support system integration via APIs and messaging-based communication
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices


Why we should decide on you

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar backend data-focused role
  • Strong experience in data modeling and database design, including normalization, performance optimization, and schema evolution
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Very good working knowledge of Python for data processing and backend development
  • Experience with data orchestration tools such as Dagster, Apache Airflow, or similar
  • Experience in designing and developing microservices, preferably in data-intensive environments
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats (XML, JSON); familiarity with XBRL, DPM, SDMX or similar standards is highly appreciated
  • Understanding of modern data processing architectures, ETL/ELT patterns, and scalable data platforms
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development in Agile environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to data quality, performance, and reliability
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver solutions end to end
  • Fluent English (minimum B2 level) and strong communication skills
