What you'll do

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will be part of our international, agile team. For the development of our Abacus360 Banking product, you will not only improve and promote established test automation solutions, but also choose, adapt, and implement new tools and approaches. Your work will help to continuously enable our agile teams to benefit from DevOps methodology and deliver potentially shippable product increments after every development cycle, for example by:
  • Analyzing and challenging current test approaches and strategies of the teams.
  • Analyzing how teams collaborate and integrate their code into our continuous delivery stream.
  • Identifying potential for automation, acceleration, and standardization.
  • In close collaboration with the teams: Developing solutions to increase their test automation degree.
  • Actively supporting cross-team initiatives for testing synergies and setting up shared test infrastructure.
  • Supporting the collaborative development of a central test result and defect reporting.
  • Contributing to our Community of Practice for “Test Automation”.

Why we should decide on you

  • 4+ years of professional experience in a similar role, including development experience (for productive code or automated tests, preferably with Java)
  • Expertise on at least one test automation framework for API testing (e.g. SoapUI), performance testing, load testing (e.g. JMeter) or GUI testing (e.g. Selenium, Tosca)
  • Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting languages (Bash, Perl, …)
  • Practical experience with Linux (basics like file system operations, ssh access, crontabs etc.)
  • Experience with trouble shooting and debugging in Linux or Windows environments (to narrow down root causes of observed issues & write better defect reports), e.g. log file analysis
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience with work load management and bug tracking frameworks like JIRA
  • Hands-on experience in using Version control systems, e.g. GIT
  • Understanding of DevOps practices (continuous integration, automatic and periodic deploy-test-merge etc.)
  • Appreciated, but not necessary: Knowledge of containerization approaches (Docker, Kubernetes), SQL, test management and/or business reporting
  • Interest in analytical / "detective" work
  • Communication skills and customer focus
  • Motivation to document and share knowledge
  • Ability to work independently
  • Curiosity
